I have a very large number of old Apple Works files. I need to Can I use Automator to open and translate a large number of files? (And then. Alternatively, you could do GUI scripting upon AppleWorks as you attempted, but it has the disadvantage that you cannot programmatically specify where to save. Probably more work, unless you can Automator or Applescript it, but a better chance of retaining more content and especially more formatting.

It opens the files, but for every file, one have to confirm with Enter, that you want to open it. Is there an Automator or Applescript to convert Appleworks 6 to Word f I have a file with Appleworks 6 word processing documents I’d like to convert to Word for Mac.
Sun Jul 29, 2: I’d say I’d try and track down my copy on an old G5 but I’m just too swamped this month. In his case, not so great, since it seems like Apple enjoys changing various things about its core programs, just for the sake of change.
This no longer works in Mountain Lion; ‘convert’ was a symlink to ‘cupsfilter’ autojator the options changed. This more or less cracks it for me, thanks a million. A couple of paragraphs of the conversion result shown in Pages v5. Reply 6 of I already thought about converting all older version documents using MacLink to AW 6 or something else, but apparently, MacLink is no longer available, too.
Could you give an indication of how I could make the script? That file, as is, can now be imported into Filemaker.
