Accessed 31 December I have just ocnvert InDesign because Pagemaker is no longer available but I have P65 files which have broken links because of new hardware and software and need ho be reconnected in Pagemaker otherwise I just get a blank page. If you want to use Word to view the text in a Pagemaker file, you will first have to open the file in Pagemaker and then save cobvert text to a separate file in a format readable to Word. With an old PageMaker you’d also need a very old computer and very old system. I have just purchased InDesign CS6 but I can’t convert my old PM65 files because the links are broken and I am told to open them in Pagemaker to repair the links before converting.
Or is there a way round this? Open the file as you would any other Word document. Do you still have the linked files available? Pagemaker is not supported in any new system.

I think you don’t want my answer: If links are missing, you will have to relink them in InDesign. Sorry, Willi, that wasn’t clear; so the question now is, can I get hold of an old Pagemaker from some where, or have I got to completely rebuild the book I’ve been writing for the last thirty years?
I would recommend to leave PageMaker and invest your time only in InDesign.
Depending on which text editor you’re pasting into, you might have to add the italics to the site name. What is not clear with my answer?
If you don’t have PageMaker running you cannot do it. Sembera now writes full time about business and technology. Use your pointer to converr the “object” in the document that contains the text you wish to view in Word. You can not post a blank message.
