The book is mostly composed of three memoranda; the last one is divided into two parts. This is the one and only thing I have thought resembled a truth in society of human beings where I have dwelled up olnger now as in a burning hell.
No Longer Human is a very honest novel; Osamu Dazai uses language that expresses how he felt. The cynical within me, a little bruised due to some unpleasant experiences in life, will guarantee that, in reality, there is no remedy for such unfortunate malady. And the loneliness he feels is all the more painful because of how deeply internalized it is, and how total his inability to communicate with others has humsn. I really don’t know — but since I seem in either case to be a mass of vices, I drop steadily, inevitably, into unhappiness, and I have no specific plan to stave off my descent.
