Martin J King, the designer of the system identified in my last post, and here: In my opinion for the cost the performance is poor. I contacted him recently and he stated “I took down the FA option for the Goldwood H frame design because in the end I was not happy with the performance of the FA.
The lower midrange is particularly rich, which makes the driver sound larger than it is. Did you hear about it on the net? He listed it on the same webpage, but has removed it. JCS on 31 Aug I don’t know why this should be, but the highs stink on SS amps.

1f20a On tubes, they are wonderful. Don’t know about OB application, but I have recently heard good things about the en Fostex driver that has recently come out. MJK brought over a tube amp. I have now heard the FA in a couple of different systems and initially it sounds good but after listening for a while I have been disappointed each time.
But overall, I would not bother building any other speaker using the Fa. I haven’t tried them in an OB. The result is that last year I bought my first tubes since the ‘s.
They sound kinda pitiful on all the SS amps I have tried. Regretted selling the little boxes.
