REVIEW: Heartless by Mary Balogh I’ve been in a reading slump lately and decided to try Heartless, Such was the case with Heartless. A couple of years ago I picked up Heartless, the first book I had ever read by Mary Balogh and went into the lost-in-a book zone. I went to work. Hope my next Balogh is better. Dos protagonistas con un pasado muy marcado. Heartlesx author threw too many scenes that involved the hero trying to get her to tell him her secret and her being too stupid to let a powerful duke protect her against the bad guy. It is one of the best book I liked to read that was written by Mary Balogh.

Lucas KendrickAnna Marlowe. He was her husband after all. I really like this author, but maybe some of her older books aren’t for me. I liked it at the beginning, there was a mystery to it, I was intrigued by the characters but it all went down in a moment, like a castle made of heagtless.
Anyway, Anna is terrified that he’s going to have her brought up on charges of theft and murder blaming her for the death of her father, I guessalso Creepy Dude blackmails her. The writing was baligh bit different than other Balogh novels, more realistic in some ways, and with some characters that are less developed.

It would have been so easy to explain the whole situation but he just let his brother and sister assume the worst instead! I feel that those pages could have been better spent explaining how their past has so impeded their futures.
But for me it’s totally convincing. So much of her time is spent putting on a facade balogb lighthearted charm and cheer that I am at a loss to understand anything real about her true character.

Even though this is practically my first Ba,ogh Balogh book apart from a novella of hers I’ve read and lovedI can see this writer has talent and I will try more of her books but this one didn’t work for me.

Luke thinks of himself as a heartless man who will never love but he is a Duke, has duties to his title, and needs an heir. I loved that about him.
