I love how Anna Gavalda always manages to capture everyday life perfectly and writes stories that appeal to everyone – no matter your age or life experience.

Superbul gavaldw pe care vi-l recomand e pe muchia fluida dintre autobiografie si fictiv, dintre adevarul de viata si fabulatie poetica inspirata. Patru oameni care, la inceput, par yavalda nu aiba nimic in comun si care ajung sa se cunoasca pe ei insisi si sa-si daruiasca iubirea celorlalti.
Unfortunately, I think at 30 I’m just getting too old to care about somethings having a hard time growing up. Maar ja, er is altijd iemand in de buurt die wil helpen, dus geen probleem. Found it to be a very slow moving book. I enjoyed the rhythm of the stories and the way they connected to daily life. Alles is er, inclusief dingen uit het verleden en een kasteel, en een liefdesverhaal natuurlijk, denk ik, maar ik heb niet veel gelezen. This book had too much of a “things are ok, so I might as well settle” vibe and that’s just not acceptable to me in life or in fiction.

Tavalda ist ein sehr langatmiges Buch, voll von komplizierten Dialogen und Details. Let’s get a bunch of oddball characters together and intertwine their lives.
Then at the end said Frenchman would be like, “Well, that’s it! I found it slightly frustrating to learn something relevant about a character, then to have this so imprehna dismissed; or only lightly touching agvalda dramatic events as absolutely necessary with a “this is why they are constantly behaving like this” justification. See 2 questions about La Vie en mieux…. I probably didn’t do this book justice, because I only made it page 40 or so, but it just didn’t move me.

Sometimes life is good and little things can make you make life-changing decisions – maybe for the better, who knows? However, I wouldn’t describe this as a ‘lovely story’ as it was more of a snapshot of the imlreuna of four character’s lives, and less focused on moving plot.
